Matt Ochs’ broad range of experience gives him expertise in all aspects of bankruptcy and complex commercial real estate transactions. In his bankruptcy practice, Matt routinely advises lending institutions, purchasers of distressed assets, and other secured and unsecured creditors on matters involving reorganizations, out-of-court workouts and liquidations. Matt’s representative client experience includes a broad range of clients in bankruptcy matters, including privately held entities and publicly traded companies. Matt’s experience also extends beyond Colorado, as he has provided representation to clients throughout the United States.
In his commercial real estate practice, Matt advises lenders, borrowers, developers and investors in all aspects of commercial real estate including acquisitions, sales, leasing, financing, liens, easements and other access matters, licenses and the formation of covenant controlled communities. He often cooperates with federal, state and local authorities to efficiently meet the needs and expectations of his clients.
Because of Matt’s extensive bankruptcy experience, his peers elected him as co-Chair of the Bankruptcy Subsection of the Colorado Bar Association, and selected him to serve on the Local Rules Revision Committee for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of Colorado. Before entering private practice, Matt was a law clerk to the Honorable Judith A. Boulden, United States Bankruptcy Court, District of Utah, and to the Honorable Karen S. Metzger, Colorado Court of Appeals.
Matt is admitted before the Colorado Supreme Court, the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Outside of the office,
Matt’s pursuits include mountaineering, skiing, ice climbing and golf.
