Please join us to hear Greg Anton, the current Chairman of the Board of Directors of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the founding partner of Anton Collins Mitchell LLP, give his provocative review of the United States government’s current financial condition based on an analysis of its own financial statements.
In a non-partisan presentation sponsored by the AICPA that is being taken around the country (and even into the corridors of power in Washington) Mr. Anton will apply his considerable skills as a CPA and private sector business advisor to review “the business of government”. He will neither dive into excessive accounting detail nor reduce his message to political sound-bites. Rather, he will offer guidance as to how the data in the U.S. government’s own financial statements can be used to evaluate our national fiscal health. In addition to outlining the key issues at stake, Mr. Anton will provide practical, non-partisan ideas for improving the country’s financial condition in the months and years ahead.
During his career, Mr. Anton has provided accounting and auditing services to a variety of industries including high-tech, biotech, financial services, construction, and real estate. He has been named one of the Top 25 Thought Leaders for 2012 in the tax and accounting profession by CPA Practice Advisor magazine, one of the 2011 Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting by Accounting Today, and a top business newsmaker by the Denver Business Journal.
After his remarks, Mr. Anton will open the floor to questions. A reception and further opportunity to interact with Mr. Anton, as well as to network with other guests, will follow the presentation.
