Decarbonizing America's Buildings: Preparing for a Carbon Neutral Future

As the world grapples with climate change, policy is being set at the federal, state and local levels to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Change is expected in all sectors of the U.S. economy - transportation, buildings, and infrastructure.

One of the biggest areas seeking to be altered is the building industry. Commercial buildings consume 12% of U.S. energy and generate 13% of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions in the U.S.

In our webinar series, Decarbonizing America's Buildings, industry experts from RMI and McKinstry will outline proven strategies to transition your buildings to zero embedded and operating carbon over time. In our first session, we will lay the groundwork for each building sector and discuss:

  • The modern building sector and what is possible, sensible, and cost-effective;
  • The role renewable energy technologies play;
  • How to design, deliver and measure a successful project; and
  • A real-world case study on delivering zero carbon at zero cost premium.

Panelists:

  • Michael Gartman
    Manager, Carbon Free Buildings - RMI
  • Brad Liljequist
    Senior Program Manager, Zero Energy - McKinstry
  • Heath Mackay
    National Renewable Energy Business Development Leader - McKinstry
