Moye White partner Garrett Graff co-authored a Practical Guidance article, State-Legalized Marijuana and Real Estate, which focuses on the challenges that can arise when marijuana-related businesses (MRBs) rent or purchase commercial real estate. It also covers the ability of residential landlords and common ownership associations to limit state-legalized marijuana consumption within both community common areas and individual houses and apartments.
Cátia Kossovsky, Smart Counsel LLC, a minority-/woman-owned corporate law firm for clients from startups to established businesses, served as his co-author.
Garrett specializes in representing clients in a variety of regulated sectors, including cannabis (including both marijuana and hemp), food/beverage, and alcohol. Specific to the cannabis industry, Garrett represents clients on successfully obtaining licenses in numerous states in both competitive and noncompetitive licensure processes.
The article, State-Legalized Marijuana and Real Estate, was published as a Practical Guidance Practice Note.
