We’re just over a month into 2021. Seems like about enough time for everyone to get a sense of the shape they were left in after 2020, and what that means for the rest of the year. So what are midsize firm leaders expecting? Read on to find out.
Tom List, Moye White, Denver –
“In 2021, my prediction for midsize firms is a steady year in terms of revenue, with a slight increase of year-over-year revenue and continued savings for midsize firms on expenses due to the continued impact of COVID-19 for at least the first six months of 2021. Firms will seek to return to the office in some capacity in the early second quarter of 2021 with the goal of obtaining full return by the end of the summer. Opportunities for growth will continue in certain practice areas, including litigation, as the courts will be in a position to begin to address the significant backlog of pending litigation. We will continue to see a flight from the coastal markets and big cities by attorneys affording mid-size firms the opportunity to embark on strategic growth for both lateral hires and associates.”
