(Denver, Colo., February 9, 2012) - Moye White will be interacting with colleagues from as far away as Hong Kong, Brazil, New Zealand, and Venezuela when the firm hosts the International Alliance of Law Firms’ Americas Regional Conference in Aspen, February 23-25.
The Alliance, founded in 1990, is an exclusive network of 59 business-oriented law firms that provide mutual access to global legal services in 42 countries. Alliance membership is by invitation only, after successful completion of a rigorous application and vetting process.
Moye White name partner, Ted White, is currently the Alliance’s Vice President, Americas Region. White said that the three-day event would allow member attorneys and guests from 14 U.S. states and six countries to get to know one another better and to discuss national and international legal issues of mutual interest.
“The Alliance allows a mid-size firm like Moye White to extend its reach globally, to assist businesses with international legal issues, and to cultivate connections around the world,” said White.
Guest speakers for the event will be the Honorable Carlos Lucero of the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals and Steven Andersen, Vice President of the International Centre for Dispute Resolution. Judge Lucero will speak on the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative (“ROLI”), grounded in the belief that rule of law promotion is an effective remedy for many of the societal ills facing the world today. Anderson’s presentation is entitled “International Mediation and Arbitration: Current Trends, Cultural Aspects, Common Myths and Misconceptions and Lessons Learned.”
As host firm, Moye White has arranged an array of informal activities, including skiing, shopping, and dining at some of Aspen’s world-class restaurants. Ted White will lead a ski tour of Aspen Mountain and his colleague, Lorni Fenton Sharrow, will lead a ski tour of Snowmass.
