Candidates Discussed Energy, Business Issues Facing State of Colorado
(Denver, Colo., August 16, 2018) - Moye White hosted a Colorado candidate forum to discuss a range of energy-related issues facing the state on August 7, 2018.
The discussion was led by the Advanced Energy Economy, a national business group comprised of advanced energy buyers, developers, manufacturers, and service providers, and centered on topics related to clean and renewable energy. More than 20 business leaders from the advanced energy industry attended the forum. The group discussed the types of policies business leaders want to see implemented in Colorado that would enable them to invest in the state’s economy.
The candidates listened as the business leaders discussed their vision for Colorado’s energy future. They shared the positive impact advanced energy can have for Colorado including job creation and related economic development.
“The goal of this forum was to engage the candidates in a dialogue with businesses about how Colorado can remain a leader in policy and practice on issues surrounding advanced energy,” said Ted White, name Partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s Advanced Energy Group. “It was a dynamic conversation, and the group left the discussion optimistic that advanced energy issues will continue to be at the forefront of our state government.”
“With more than 62,000 workers and growing, advanced energy is now a significant and growing sector of Colorado’s economy,” said J.R. Tolbert, vice president for state policy, Advanced Energy Economy. “The next governor has an opportunity to expand this market further and create even more jobs to keep our economy humming while producing secure, clean, affordable energy for Colorado.”
“It was an honor to host the candidates at our firm’s office, but we were even more pleased to have the opportunity to be a part of such an important topic in our state,” said Managing Partner Thomas List. “As a certified B Corp, we are committed to working to create the best energy solutions for businesses in our community, the environment, and the state.”
