Stephanie Loughner and Abby Brown Present at CBA Virtual Event
(Denver, Colo., October 7, 2020) – Moye White LLP is pleased to announce partner Stephanie D. Loughner and associate Abby L. Brown each virtually presented at the Colorado Bar Association (CBA) Labor & Employment Law Section’s annual Employment Law Conference.
Over the course of three Tuesdays, September 29, October 6 and October 13, the 2020 Employment Law Conference provided sessions specifically covering employment law updates and issues. Topics included U.S. Supreme Court case updates, immigrants rights in the workplace, whistleblowers, arbitration against the federal government, a wage and hour update, the Colorado Equal Pay Act, and state legislative updates.
On the first day, September 29, Brown joined Katherine Funk, managing partner of the Washington, D.C. office of Lewis Brisbois, for an update on the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act). The session outlined all aspects of the CARES Act, including who actually administers the assistance, the impact of PPP in Colorado, and potential long-term obstacles. The duo also shared common questions from clients and best practices for answering each.
In addition, Loughner was part of an on-demand session, Labor and Employment Law Nuts and Bolts: For New Attorneys and Those New to the Practice, that provided the basics and recent updates on a few of the most important and timely issues in labor and employment law. These include discussions on proving discrimination and retaliation; common employment discrimination statutes; wage and hour laws; Colorado overtime and minimum pay standards; and the transactional side of employment law.
She was joined by John A. Culver, a name partner at Benezra & Culver; John Michael Guevara, a partner at Wolf Guevara; and Joshua D. Kohler, an associate at Lewis Brisbois.
