The Franchise Partner Presented With Women's Franchise Network

Hanson, virtually presented on franchise disclosure documents (FDD) and how to update them at a Denver chapter of the Women's Franchise Network (WFN) event, FDD Drafting in 2021, on March 3. Hanson is the co-chair of the firm's Franchise and Distribution practice group has served as President of Denver's WFN Board since 2018.
Hanson was joined at the happy hour event by Stacey Duke, managing partner at accounting firm BDO USA. The panelists shared practical tips on how to update 2021 FDDs. In addition, the panelists discussed how to draft financial performance representation (FPR) this year based on 2020 data and how to optimize recognition of initial franchise fees in light of the new Financial Accounting Standards Board's (FASB) proposed practical expedient for franchisors. After the webinar, participants were able to network in small virtual breakout sessions.
Hanson's practice concentrates on franchising and distribution regulatory law, and she has represented franchisors in business, trademark, regulatory and transactional matters for more than 20 years.
