The Firm Welcomes New Faces in Business, Trial, Real Estate
DENVER (September 15, 2021) – Moye White LLP is pleased to announce Jacob Millis, Erin L. Scott, and Thomas Witt have joined the firm as associates in the Business, Trial, and Real Estate teams, respectively.

Jacob Millis
Jacob Millis focuses his practice on tax law and has advised a wide range of clients, including oil and gas, mining, and e-commerce companies. His experience includes state audit defense, commerce clause nexus, gross receipts sourcing, severance tax implications, sales and use tax implications, and successor liability rules in corporate reorganizations and mergers.
He attended the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law, where he earned his law degree, with a corporate and commercial law certificate, and received his master’s (LL.M.) in taxation. Millis earned his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
Erin L. Scott
As a member of the firm’s Trial Section, Erin L. Scott focuses on civil litigation and appellate work. She handles all aspects of a case, from initial assessment, discovery, and depositions, through trial and everything in between.
Prior to joining Moye White, Erin clerked for the South Dakota Second Judicial Circuit and the Honorable Judge Jerry N. Jones at the Colorado Court of Appeals. There she researched state statutes, regulations, and case law to analyze and draft disposition memorandums.
She earned her law degree from the University of South Dakota, cum laude, and her undergraduate degree in criminal justice, with a minor in biology, from the University of Sioux Falls. She is an active member of the Colorado Bar Assocation and Sam Cary Bar Association.
Thomas Witt
Thomas Witt manages a nationwide practice that focuses on high-value real estate matters. He coordinates and manages real estate transactions on behalf of both purchasers and sellers; handles commercial lease agreements for both tenants and landlords; and drafts and negotiates various agreements and contracts.
Before joining Moye White, Witt worked as a real estate and oil and gas attorney at two local Denver law firms. Prior to attending law school, Witt spent a decade as an archaeologist and historian for an environmental consulting firm.
He earned his law degree from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law in 2017. While there, he served as a research assistant to a professor researching renewable energy law. He also earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in anthropology from the University of Maine and University of Massachusetts, Boston, respectively. Witt is an active member of the Colorado Bar Association, the Lawyers’ Committee for Cultural Heritage Preservation, and Colorado Preservation, Inc.
