DENVER (March 18, 2022) – Moye White LLP is pleased to announce partner Garrett Graff presented a webinar on the complex tax considerations in the cannabis industry and how potential litigation could change those requirements at the 2022 Advanced State Income Tax Seminar on March 17. The virtual seminar is co-hosted by American Bar Association and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
During his presentation, Lighting up Cannabis: Parallels between the Intersection of State Cannabis Regulation and Income Taxation, Graff discussed why it’s important to understand what is legal in each state and what license requirements exist, how to manage 280(E) restrictions, and the legal structures designed to avoid tax and reduce risk. He also preparation for federal legalization, interstate commerce and proposed legislation such as the Cannabis Administration and Opportunity Act (CAOA). Graff was joined by Jordan Wellington, a partner at VS Strategies.
