Steve Gockley is an experienced real estate and construction attorney whose practice focuses on the development of commercial and industrial properties. Steve represents a wide range of project participants in complex commercial transactions, including owners, developers, construction managers, design professionals, EPC firms, and general contractors. He is known for providing tailored advice and strategic counsel to decision-makers throughout all phases of a project.

In addition to his transactional experience, Steve works with clients through the course of development and construction, providing counsel as to their rights and obligations under the contracts and providing strategic guidance to mitigate risks and avoid conflicts. Should disputes arise, Steve has extensive experience in the negotiation and disposition of the same, providing counsel to assist clients to prepare for and achieve a preferred outcome.

Prior to Moye White, Steve worked as an associate attorney at a Chicago-based law firm that exclusively focuses on the litigation and arbitration of high-stakes design and construction disputes. There, he litigated disputes relating to all aspects of the design and construction of complex construction projects, including claims of breach of contract, delay, design, defective work, and property damage. In addition, he also held roles with the Circuit Court of Cook County, the Illinois House of Representatives, and the U.S. Department of Labor.

Steve enjoys spending time with his wife, son, friends, family, and dog and being outdoors, especially when playing golf or attending sporting events.
