(Denver, Colo., February 8, 2011) - The Colorado Business Committee for the Arts (CBCA) has announced that Moye White partner, Ted White, has been named a finalist for the CBCA’s John Madden, Jr. Leadership Award. The Madden Award recognizes a business sector individual who has made significant contributions to advancing arts and culture in Colorado.
“We are extremely pleased that Ted has been nominated for this prestigious award,” said Moye White Managing Partner, Jim Burghardt. “Ted donates an enormous amount of his time and energy to community causes and it is gratifying that CBCA has recognized his exemplary commitment to and engagement with the arts.”
A distinguished panel of judges, including Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce President and CEO, Kelly Brough, selected finalists in four different categories. The winners will be announced at the CBCA Business for the Arts Awards luncheon on Thursday, March 17, 2011.
Ted White was a driving force behind the Biennial of the Americas, a month-long celebration of the Western Hemisphere and its art, ideas and people that took place for the first time in July, 2010. As Chair of the Biennial’s board of directors, he played a key role in getting the event up and running. As a transactional attorney who works on many foreign deals, Ted also had the vision to position the Biennial as a vehicle to strengthen Colorado’s ties with the Western Hemisphere through art, culture and an exchange of ideas. His efforts were roundly praised by business and community leaders, including Governor John Hickenlooper.
